Lounging in brown

What’s your mobile phone?

Orange Pay as You Go. I’m not in the UK for more than half the year so an annual contract is not worthwhile.

What is your signature scent?

I keep coming back to Samsara but have currently been toying between Fracas by Robert Piquet and Cartier’s So Pretty.

What brand of underwear do you favour?

Rigby and Peller - they do what they claim to.

What sheets are on your bed?

White, 100 per cent Egyptian cotton.

What car do you drive?

A cream Mercedes 380 SLC with a tan leather interior. She’s beautiful. She’s getting old and a bit grumpy but I love her. When I was 20 I saw a woman driving one and I said when I am 40 I will drive that car and have my hair done once a week. So I did and I do.

Favourite Champagne?

I’ll have a cocktail that has a great deal of fresh fruit juice in it. I don’t get the point of giving myself a headache and that’s all alcohol does to me.

Brand of coffee?

I’m a Starbucks girl - double tall low-fat latte with a bit of chocolate on top.

Which magazine is always on your coffee table?

Royal Academy of Arts magazine.

Stereo or iPod?

I have hearing in my left ear only, so I hear in mono. But I’m very keen on this iPod thing.

Cubic zirconium or diamonds?

My favourite piece of jewellery is a gold armlet from South America. I’ve had so many jewellery thefts that I try not to give objects too much importance.

Superdrug or Estée Lauder?

I use mainly Chanel, Clarins and La Prairie and whenever I buy stuff I ask for samples for my weekend washbag.

What is your favourite piece of furniture?

My little round oak dining table because it belonged to my parents.

What item do you wish you had never bought?

A rather flash pair of skis that were far too long and advanced for me. Or maybe it was the boat I bought the day before people I knew with the same one were capsized by sharks and killed. It put me off the whole going out past the surf and plankton thing.

Favourite nick-nack?

My digital camera and printer are such fun.

What is your favourite labour-saving device?

My hairdresser.
