There are so many award shows today that we can't even name them all. Of course, there are the obvious ones (Emmys, Oscars, etc.) but it seems that just about every industry honours its own at some sort of award presentation.

Winning a People's Choice Award means a lot to the performers in motion pictures, music and television since they are being recognised by their fans (who vote in an extensive poll by the Gallup Organization).
