This
programme consists of two virtuoso pieces - one set in a barber's
salon, the other in a tea shop. Both are tragi-comedies.
The evening is concerned with the gradual revelation of the
private problems of people in unusual public situations - a man
under a barber's scissors and an entire ladies' tea shop orchestra
in the middle of a performance.
Monsieur Barnett was commissioned as a television play by
the BBC for their forthcoming series Fear. The present
version has been especially adapted for the stage. |
