Three
daring sisters throw convention to the wind, dress as gypsies and
go on the razzle in a Spanish colony during carnival time. Three
fortune-hunting rakes provide the quarry... This battle of the
sexes explodes in an atmosphere filled with fireworks, calypsos,
flashing swords and amorous intrigue.
Aphra
Benn led a life as exciting as that of her characters. She lived
in the Far East, became a spy for Charles II,
was thrown into debtor's prison, and is thought to be the first
professional playwright!
